Little port was a bit of a distance for us to travel that’s why we only took 1 team. The place was great it was a really big field with flushing toilets on the field and inside we had a chance to have a shower, restaurant, bar and the opportunity to do sports while we were there. The exercise area was massive really great venue. We took the Titanium Steelers but the dogs were not the normal four that run as a team at some point all the dogs have ran in the team but never in the combination that they ran for this competition. We ran floss, champs, Finley and Pashley. This combination ran all morning session and ran really good getting a new seed time of 20.34 running 70th of a second faster than the old seed time. In the afternoon we ran Bliss instead of floss that was tied (she’s doing well for a twelve year old). The times very slightly dropped to around 21 seconds by doing this but it was good to see Lakeland terrier bliss racing and beating border collies there and back. We did win 5 out of our 6 races and finished 3rd after a 3 way run off. Wood Green animal Wood green was one of my all times favorite show I have been to the space was amazing, atmosphere was the best, the scenery was even better but the best was the laid back, smooth running on the day racing organization so smoothly ran never finishing past 6pm including presentation. We only had 2 teams (last minute organized) Young steelers and Multi Steelers. Young Steelers were seeded bottom of div 1 and we had fun and mixed the normal dogs up and ran champs in the team and ran him 3rd which he never runs he ran great. The dogs all did excellent all day the weather was really hot burning weather. The team finished a great 3rd place well done to you all. Multi Steelers were great same again mixed from normal but they ran great again they was seeded 1st and went on to win every race in there division and wining. None of the dogs putting a paw wrong well done to both teams lets continue to next show. A big well done to Janet and Cleo and Sabrina and A BIG WELL DONE TO EVERYONE…… Middlesborgh 9th 10th May 2009 What a great weekend racing we had the whether was great one minute sunny the next torrential rain. Like normal the worst whether weighted until I judged. The teams ran great again we had to have another little move about that slightly unsettled the dogs and handlers but they coped with the problem. We went into the days racing underdogs and both teams never looked out of place both wining 3 out of there 5 races but this was only good enough to take third place with teams. The dogs are still getting used to the heat as it is now starting to get very hot. Well done to all handlers and dogs for great racing. Mottram 2-4th may I would like start by saying a big well done to MARNIE for her 10,000 points a lot of time and effort for Julirt and Kenny well doneagain all the team. At Mottram we entered 3 teams young steelers, titanium steelers and multi steelers. Titanium steelers was a bit mixed than what we normally run but the dogs ran great the team pulled together. We finally had the star back playing as Pashley was back running but without his normal handler as they have swapped injuries (Pashley has just returned with a broken toe and I think Kenny was jealous of the attention so now he’s broke his but had to go one better) . They went in on fire getting a new seed time 21.57 and finishing 2nd in division well done to you all. Young Steelers were 5th seeded in the division they all ran there socks off all day. Tri and Mc cauley are making a great double act as our first 2 dogs putting all the teams under pressure causing lots of lights. Finley and Milo were excellent as well really pleased with the way the all the team ran getting a new seed time of 18.31 but still finishing 5th were we was seeded well done. Keep up the good work. Multi Steelers it was there first time out as we have never ran a multi breed team before. We went into multi breed seeded 1 in div1 this really surprised us all but they didn’t put a foot wrong all day. The team was Mc Cauley (bc), Finley(x breed), Pashley (parson jack Russell) and Milo (Springer spaniel) and reserve we had Bliss (Lakeland terrier). The team was excellent, they all really ran well changeovers and atmosphere was a live throughout the day well done I know I enjoyed watching you all run and taking first place with a time off 19.91. Stocksbridge show Stocksbridge was a great venue very big. Start with Titanium steelers for a change once again had a slight change to the team due to Young steelers had another great day racing going in just to race not expecting to come anywhere. After a couple of races we had the Cleveland comets fastest in the div who we always lose against came and we went to the timer for every leg some how we managed to get a faster time than they did and won them getting a new seed time of 18.29. The racing was so close but Young steelers held on and didn’t lose a race and went on to win the 1st division. Congratulations to both teams for wining their divisions it was a great day of racing and let’s see how we get on at Deeside. Young Steelers have never looked as good running great changeovers were perfect all day looking like lights on nearly every changeover it was great to watch. The teams we lost against were not much faster and it was good clean and close racing all day running a fastest ever time for the club so far of 18.41 with still room to come down. The team work was great between both teams and I would like to say congratulations to WELL DONE TEAM show ground had white all over the fields the ground was cold but it turned out to be a fantastic day we had 2 teams racing again Young Steelers and Titanium Steelers. The Titanium Steelers ran great not looking out of place they went in with a seed time of 22.88 they ran all legs under that time even managing a few under 22.00 we ran Floss, lassie, Markfield Another starters at Markfield we had a team of four dogs. The dogs ran great and was very well organised and it wouldn’t be the same with out Sabrina getting a light the changeovers on her behalf was great couldn’t get any closer if you tried. Pashley came with ourselves due to Juliet unable to come for unforeseen circumstances’ and was run by Also well done to Mc cauley and Finley for coming second in doubles and getting a good time of 9.07 well done (just don’t let Amanda run first getting 2 earliest out of the 3 legs they ran). Markfield The 17th January first show of the year for the Steelers members. We went to Tomlinson Kennels, Markfield and had a great day it was cold and a little windy but at least it wasn’t wet we was only running the one team and it was the starter team the Rusty Steelers. The dogs ran great and the handlers looked professional and the dogs did to. First dog was Wednesday back in starters after 6 months out and Sophie was running her and she started with lots of lights and then started to her with perfect starts better on her own than with any help (not bad for an 8 year old). Second we had Deeside Ice Rink On Saturday we went to Deeside past Runcorn was in division 1 with the young Steelers and div 4 with the titanium steelers. The titanium steelers had Pashley out on his first competition. Who ran great lasted all day without any problems the other dogs ran really good finishing third in the division. The Young steelers was the same team we ran the week before at Newark and we had a few problems but when they got their heads together the team was great ran like they should and was running how they should we learnt a few things from the dogs and improved throughout the day also finishing third in the division. Well done to both teams for making the journey to Deeside it was a bit of a distance to travel but it was a great day and the venue was great really big loads of room and the teams was brilliant. On Saturday we went to Markfield Markfield was another starter competition we had a great time finishing 3rd in our division we was without Drax power station Was only starters and we entered one team the Rusty Steelers. We ran Finley, Young Steelers had a different line up to normal due to a change in the team we finished 5th in the division but this was down to getting a lot of lights and not use to changing with the normal dogs something to work on in practise on Sunday well-done team anyway. Rusty Steelers was running really good I can’t wait until some of them come of age. They will be an asset to the team. The team was very good winning there starter division with a time of 21.27 as there fastest time and without losing a leg the dogs are really showing improvement and the dogs that are quite not there will be soon. Home Farm Home Farm was cancelled due to bad weather the ground had no green grass but had lots of mud. Most of us stayed still till Sunday and had a fun night on karaoke we did do a little bit of flyball we managed to run 2 divisions and a starters and under the circumstances Mottram St Andrews We entered 2 teams and a starter team into Mottram. I would like to say welcome to Juliet and Kenny to the Steelers Flyball Team from all the team. Rusty Steelers had five starter dogs in its team and they were great to watch. They finished third with 20.70 as the fastest time. We had Yoyo who ran with us for the first time and looked like a natural. Finley he ran is normal happy self and he never put a foot wrong. Pashley we had never seen Pashley run before and we was very impressed with how he ran great potential. Cleo she is getting better every time we see her run she ran really well. Scooby he ran well and I think its starting work progress is starting to show and can’t wait till he runs out of starters. Annie is also a great dog and always a pleasure to run with. I would like to congratulate all the dogs and handlers for a great effort and good racing. Young Steelers was a different combination to normal but they ran great the time was not much different to the normal dogs they kept under 22 seconds all day. They had a fastest time of 20.48. We didn't have Little Sam so Tanya his mum stood in and did a great job something Sam would have been proud off. The dogs were Jasper, Dice, Lassie, and Bliss and they ran with the tightest of changeovers and made running look easy. At the end of the days racing they had only lost to one team and won division 3 WELL DONE TO ALL THE TEAM. Stainless Steelers for some reason they were placed into division 1 bottom seed they had a good days racing and we tried running the team with a new dog in the team, we had Marnie running with us for the first time and Juliet and Marnie was very nervous but I think they ran great . The other dogs were the normal with floss as the reserve dog. It was another great days racing and I hope that everyone enjoyed themselves. It was another great weekend relaxed no rushing around and really enjoyable thank you to all the team well done to all Summer champs The Summer Champs was excellent. We all had such a great time so relaxed and it showed. The championship was over 3 days and we had the Young Steelers on the Saturday and the Stainless Steelers on the Sunday. Start with singles well done Finley for winning starter singles with 4.21 and Scooby coming 3rd in open singles with 4.17. Also well done Scooby and bobby for getting 2nd with 8.30 seconds and Scooby and Finley for getting 3rd in open doubles with a time of 8.45 seconds and last but not least Cara and Finley for winning anything but a collie in doubles with a time of 8.80 Young Steelers like normal they ran great all day they managed to get a new seed time of 20.13. They had a lot of hard racing and started the morning by losing the first two races but they bounced back after that by winning the next two, They ended up finishing 5th in the division but they was in the wrong division to do any better, teams in the same division were racing at 19 seconds but they did their best and that’s all we can ask. Well done to all in the kid’s team you did race well. Stainless Steelers also got a new seed time and got 18.58 they really looked up for the Summer Champs this showed going on to win 4 out of the 5 teams most going to 5 legs and a few 4 legs the racing was so close and had to go to judge to decide who won. In the end the division was going to be decided on the last race of the division to see who won. In the last race we just managed to win to make us DIVISION 7 winners. We was so happy well done to all the team they really did race well CONGRATULATIONS TO ROY AND TRI, BARRY AND MC CAULEY, TREVOR AND CARA, RYAN AND FLOSS FOR WINNING DIVISION 7 This has got to be one of my best weekends I have ever had Well done to everyone in the teams. Wirral l2/8/08 The venue was great I could not believe the size of the venue the ground was so hard even after a full day of rain. We entered 2 competition teams and a starter team. The main Teams were the Stainless Steelers and Young Steelers the Starter Team was the Rusty Steelers. The Stainless Steelers unfortunately had Floss in the Team and she normally ran first so we had to feed her in from the side but she did it. The other dogs ran fantastic the changeovers had room but we just wanted to have fun and compete the team had to declare a time and we declared 19.30 and we ran a time of 19.12. Well done to all the teams for a great day racing you deserve a pat on your back especially after winning you division. Young Steelers the team handlers and dogs was the same as The Rusty Steelers are the starter team and this is another team that can be either funny or stress full to watch. We had help for the starter team as we didn't have enough dogs for our own team and had to borough from the Alpha Dogz. The starters all ran well and was great to see the dogs enjoying themselves. The starter Team ran a time of 19.06 and changeovers were not pushed with them only been young dogs. I would like to thank Alpha Dogz for all there help and their dogs. We had 2 teams entered for the mid-week show. The teams entered were the Iron Steelers and the Young Steelers The Iron Steelers was entered at 21.83 and we were not expecting to get any faster than that time but they did. The dogs ran much faster than they were allowed and broke out. The team had a good time and all the dogs ran well and ended up with a seed time of 20.70 a full second faster than we thought they would run well done all who raced. The kids Team had a hard division but put up a really good fight and finished up 3rd in the division they were very organised like normal and towards the end of the day was almost running all on the own without any help. Some of Sam’s starts were unbelievable. They ended up running a fastest time of 20.47 well done everyone.
